What went well with the photography? What could have been better?
I think that the lighting went well with the photography. It isn’t too light and isn’t too dark.
If I could have improved the photography I would have positioned the camera better and made some of the pictures long shots with the fully body in.
What did you learn about using the software?
I generally learned everything about the software as I had never used it before. I had allot of errors throughout but I managed to learn how to use it in the end. I used Photoshop and InDesign. I used InDesign for making the layout on my contents page as it is easier and the tools I needed are provided.
I also used Photoshop. I mainly used this for the designing part of my work.
What do you think of what was produced?
I think the work I have produced is at a good standard. It turned out as expected but I think I could have made it better if I had more time. I think it is a convincing college magazine. It has ‘college like’ text on it which is convincing.
What do others think of what was produced?
I like the front cover because the central image is very effective as it creates a more fun atmosphere to the magazine. However I do not like the background as it is too bright, and takes the attention away from the picture and text, as people would be put off when they saw it.
I like the contents page layout as it is very easy to find things, which would improve the magazine as more people are looking for simple layouts. However I think the text could be different colours to highlight the pages and what it is about clearly.
Why did you choose to do what you did and how much of an effect did the audience research have?
I looked at other college magazines on the internet to get an idea of what to put on mine. This influenced my views and helped me pick what I wanted on mine. I looked at a few different types of magazines and I set my ideas off one specific one and did not use ideas from others.
